I wonder if attributing all of our troubles to brain drain is the solution. In the era of globalisation, does the term retain any validity whatsoever ? Let us take the example of some individuals who have studied at the IITs and have subsequently taken up positions in the academic industry across the globe like Srini Devadas ( MIT ) and Anant Agrawal ( MIT ). Mr. Anant's course on signals ( 6.002 I think ) remains an excellent material which students all over the world can use through OCW. Again, every dollar these guys send back home ( which I expect a lot do ) is surely going to be a contribution to the nation's GDP. Isn't expecting a nation to live all by itself a mistake ?

Anyway, I am 16 and my knowledge of economics is poor. What course do you study at IITM ? And would you mind commenting on my blog: http://shriphani.com/blog ?
